Calder Way Project Updated March 13, 2026
/Dear property owners, business managers, and other stakeholders:
The Borough of State College is writing to provide you with the latest updates regarding Phase 2 of the Calder Way Improvement Project.
This past week the contractor, TerraWorks continued to install new water lines in the section of Calder Way from South Fraser Street to South Burrowes Street. New water main was also installed at the intersection of South Burrowes Street and Calder Way. Throughout this week, South Burrowes Street was closed so this work could be completed. South Burrowes Street is now open and beginning next week crews will continue installing water lines from South Fraser Street to South Burrowes Street and connect what was replaced this past week.
Calder Way from South Fraser Street to Burrowes Street remains closed to vehicular traffic. The loading dock at the Fraser Centre also remains closed. For delivery purposes, shipments can still be made via Beaver Avenue, South Fraser Street, or Miller Alley. However, drivers will need to use New Alley to exit to Burrowes Street if they are unloaded on Miller Alley.
Please remember that projects of this nature are fluid and often change, and they can be impacted by inclement weather. You will be updated in a timely manner about these changes as they are received. Weekly updates will be provided on Thursday afternoons, and there will be times you will receive more than one update per week as conditions change.
