Calder Way Project Updated March 5, 2026
/Dear property owners, business managers, and other stakeholders:
The Borough of State College is writing to provide you with the latest updates regarding Phase 2 of the Calder Way Project.
This past week TerraWorks completed sanitary sewer replacement from South Fraser Street to South Burrowes Street. In total, 8 sewer laterals were replaced & 3 abandoned lines were removed. The contractor also began replacing water lines this week, which will continue next week.
Calder Way from South Fraser Street to Burrowes Street remains closed to vehicular traffic. With PSU Spring Break, next week, South Burrowes Street will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. between New Alley and West College Avenue (Local Traffic Only). Please refer to the attached map for the closure.
For delivery purposes, shipments can still be made via Beaver Avenue, South Fraser Street, or Miller Alley. New Alley will remain open to local traffic and deliveries.
The Borough wants to emphasize that primary communications will be sent via email through the Calder Way Communications list. Weekly updates will be provided on Thursday afternoons, and there will be times you will receive more than one update per week as conditions change.
Please remember that projects of this nature are fluid and often change, and they can be impacted by inclement weather. You will be updated in a timely manner about these changes as they are received.
