Calder Way Project Update April 30, 2026
/Dear property owners, business managers, and other stakeholders:
The Borough of State College is writing to provide you with the latest updates regarding Phase 2 of the Calder Way Improvement Project.
This past week the contractor, TerraWorks, began the installation of sanitary sewer lines and conduit between South Burrowes Street and Cresson Alley. On Friday, May 1st, the section from Miller Alley to South Burrowes Street will be paved. However, the area will remain closed and be used as a staging area for equipment and supplies.
Next week the work will continue between South Burrowes Street and Cresson Alley. To start the week a lane restriction will remain along South Burrowes Street.
The contractor will work Monday through Thursday, with no work being done on May 8th as this is the first day of Penn States Spring Commencement.
The Borough wants to emphasize that primary communications will be sent via email through the Calder Way Communications list. Weekly updates will be provided on Thursday afternoons, and there will be times you will receive more than one update per week as conditions change.
Please remember that projects of this nature are fluid and often change, and they can be impacted by inclement weather. You will be updated in a timely manner about these changes as they are received.
