Calder Way Project Updated May 14, 2026

Dear property owners, business managers, and other stakeholders:

The Borough of State College is writing to provide you with the latest updates regarding Phase 2 of the Calder Way Improvement Project.

This past week the contractor, TerraWorks, resumed replacing sanitary sewer lines and installing conduit from South Burrowes Street to Cresson Alley. The contractor also began the removal of the old water lines in the same area.

Starting next week, sanitary sewer line replacement will begin from Cresson Alley to South Atherton Street. The crew will continue conduit installation from South Burrowes Street to Cresson Alley as well.

Next week, South Burrowes Street will be closed from New Alley to College Avenue. Calder Way from Miller Alley to South Burrowes Street remains closed to vehicular traffic.

The Borough wants to emphasize that primary communications will be sent via email through the Calder Way Communications list. Weekly updates will be provided on Thursday afternoons, and there will be times you will receive more than one update per week as conditions change.

Please remember that projects of this nature are fluid and often change, and they can be impacted by inclement weather. You will be updated in a timely manner about these changes as they are received.
